Gutter Guards 101: Are They Worth It for Florida Homes?

Gutter guards are designed to keep leaves and debris out while letting water flow through, cutting down on how often gutters need to be cleaned by hand.
In Florida, where oak leaves and pine needles fall nearly year-round, guards can meaningfully reduce clogs and the risk of overflow during heavy summer storms. They're not maintenance-free forever, but they stretch the time between cleanings considerably.
For homes surrounded by mature trees, guards are usually worth the upfront cost. For homes with little tree coverage, standard cleaning on a regular schedule may be all that's needed.
